If a computer that was monitored by lansweeper is taken off the network, or if the computer was renamed, is there any automated way to take it off the lansweeper database so that it does not appear on the list?

I know we can delete them from the first screen but that would mean that someone would have to access the console and do this manually. We have 2nd level staff who make images, re-name computers, joins and disjoins computers from the network all the time. I did'nt know if there was an automated way to go through the list that lansweepr had in its database and compare it against Active directory and remove records that were not present in AD.

I don't think I can agree with you on that. If AD is administered well and proper procedures are followed, it self manages itself. When a computer is renamed, the authentication that pops up is what tells the AD to make the appropriate change and DNS to make the appropriate change. We have been doing this sucessfully for quiet some time. Same goes with joining, disjoining etc.

I hope the next version will have this functionality built in because LANSWEEPER already does a good job reading values from AD such as a person's AD details.
