I'm installing Lansweeper for the first time. I completed configuring SQLExpress on a Windows 2000 server. ISS is installed and configured. During installation of Lansweeper I get past the SQL account configuration page but cannot get past the Service Configuration page. I keep getting the error - Logon failure:unknown UserName or bad Password! I've attached a picture, just in case. I've tried a number of admin group usernames and passwords but no go. I've tried with the domain and without. Tried a local admin account that I also put into AD with the same password, no go. I get no errors in the App, Sec, or Sys logs and even ran filemon to see if file access was being denied somewhere. I'm feelin like a complete n00b, is there something I'm missing?? Any thoughts appreciated!

I am getting the same exact error! Any luck figuring this thing out. I am running it off of a VM, that could be the issue.

With which type of account are you logging on (domain, local) Is the server part of an active directory domain?

If you know what filemon is you are not a noob ;) I'm still investigating the issue, I cannot reproduce it on my test machines (vmware, virtual pc)

The server is part of AD and I used the local admin account, and a few domain admin accounts. No luck at all. We are on a 2000 AD domain not a 2003 just so you know.

I got it working. I was unable to get it up and running with a VM enviroment but on a physical machine it ran perfect. I was using the free VM package not the ESX server that may be the difference. One more thing, so far this application is wonderful!!

This was a bug in the installer, it's fixed now.
